Laurin really can't remember a time when she wasn't singing and dancing...it's what she's always wanted to do; it's what she's always done. Raised in small town Clio, South Carolina, she spent her teenage years training in Jazz, Tap and Ballet, all the while singing and performing in her dad's country band. Inspired by great entertainers like Barbara Mandrell and Tina Turner, Laurin set her sights for a career in country music and dance and she never looked back.
Her first professional job was in Myrtle Beach, SC where she was featured in the "High Steppin' Country Show" followed by jobs at theme parks in Morecomb, England and Busch Gardens, Williamsburg. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BFA in Dance, she landed a show at Opryland USA in Nashville, TN with the legendary Brenda Lee. She later toured with Brenda as a background singer for six years. In addition to that, Laurin has toured as a backup singer with megastar Toby Keith, appearing on his North American tour and performances on Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel, Superbowl XXXVIII, the Thanksgiving Halftime Show at Dallas Cowboy Stadium, the AMA's and the CMA's, just to name a few.
Furthermore, Laurin has been featured in music videos with such artists as Hank Williams, Jr., Dolly Parton and Dwight Yoakum. She has performed in live stage shows with Louise Mandrell, Lucie Arnaz, Willie Nelson, Pam Tillis, Steven Tyler, Gloria Gaynor and Debbie Gibson. She has also performed in national tours with Matt Davenport Productions, and has been a featured performer for Miss USA Preliminary pageants, Mrs.International pageants, Miss America Pennsylvania pageants, and has performed at the legendary Grand Ole Opry, which is a career highlight.
Laurin continues to perform, teach workshops, and assist with entertainment productions. She is also the staff choreographer for Matt Davenport Productions, Inc. where she creates original choreography for national tours, theme parks and industrials.
